Sister Schubert Giveaway!

December 1, 2016 By Talya Tate Boerner

Sister Schubert Giveaway Hey everyone, how about we get December started with a Sister Schubert Giveaway! I met Sister Schubert back in early September when she spoke at the Arkansas Women Bloggers’ Megaphone Summit. I’m here to tell you that Sister Schubert is the real deal—just like her famous rolls which have enjoyed a place at our holiday table for years and years. Truth: some of us can bake homemade bread, and some of us {me} leave it to the experts.

At our conference, Sister jumped right in at Foodie Friday and whipped up a batch of her cinnamon bread pudding. Foodie Friday is all about food, and this recipe fit the bill for sure. So rich and decadent!

Sister Schubert's cinnamon bread pudding!

We served the bread pudding in tiny servings, pretended not to eat much, then went back for more servings. And even more servings. That’s how that went.

And by the way, this recipe is not nearly as intimidating as it sounds because it’s made with Sister Schubert cinnamon rolls. I promise your people will be duly impressed.

I’ve linked to the recipe at the bottom of this post, but first, back to my Sister Schubert Giveaway. Today to kick off December and Christmas and holiday excitement, I’m giving away a copy of her beautiful book, Celebrations from the Heart (written by Sister Schubert Barnes and co-authored by Betty Sims).

Celebrations from the Heart

This book is GORGEOUS—part coffee table book, part heartfelt story, part family recipes you will make again and again. And not only are the pages filled with Sister’s favorite recipes but also entertaining tips for all your celebrations whether formal holiday, family or every day. Celebrations from the Heart will make a wonderful addition to your cookbook collection or you can gift it to the chef in your family.

And in case you think this is one of those super fancy books you’ll never use—NO. That’s not the case at all. Recipes include regular southern foods like butter beans and peach pie.

She’s from Alabama, y’all.

Just so you know: This is not a sponsored post. Sister didn’t ask me to write this or pay me or promise me cinnamon rolls or anything.  I did receive a copy of her book at Megaphone, and I knew it would be the perfect holiday giveaway for my readers, so I purchased this copy. And she signed it. (Forward thinking on my part if I do say so.) 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this book are provided to three family foundations benefiting art and ALS research.

You have several chances to enter this giveaway by following the instructions. This giveaway ends soon. The winner will get her or his cookbook before Christmas. (I’ll do my best.)

Thank you! Sugar plums, bread pudding, you see the connection right? Pentatonix is amazing.

I baked four pans of her rolls for Thanksgiving dinner. Sent home a partial pan with grandchildren. I didn’t enter giveaway because I was fortunate enough to get a copy at Megaphone, too.,
